Kansas

Kansas became a state in 1861. Physically it is noted for great central plains in the west and higher elevation, hills and forests in the east.   Per the Census statistics for 2019, Kansas has a total population of 2.94M people of which 2.42M live in incorporated places (source: US Census Bureau 2010-19 data).
